DescriptionAvondale House is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit agency that provides, educational services to individuals with autism, a day program program for adults, where clients receive training in daily living skills and pre-vocational activities and three residential homes for individuals unable to live in their own home. Avondale House has been serving individuals with autism since 1976. To learn more please visit our website at: .This position is a key leadership role, with a focus on ensuring high-quality services for individuals with autism, program development, and organizational management. The COO will work closely with the CEO and other stakeholders to ensure the nonprofit’s mission is achieved and its programs are effectively managed.Avondale House offers a generous benefit program that includes 401(k) and medical both with an employer contribution, in addition dental, vision, life, disability insurance and paid time off options are available.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage all programs, including Residential, Adult Day Program, Employment Services, and future programs.Oversee a team of program managers and ensure regular opportunities for staff feedback on program operations.Review and develop new programs to meet emerging needs; ensure the quality of service delivery.Ensure services comply with federal, state, and local regulations and certifications, manage licensures.Develop, implement, and manage the program budget in conjunction with the CEO; provide accurate reports.Collaborate with the CEO and other leadership to contribute to strategic planning and operational improvements.Manages facilities throughout the organization.Serve as a representative of Avondale House to community, governmental, and private organizations.Promote continuous quality improvement and ensure all activities align with Avondale House’s mission and values.RequirementsMinimum 10 years in professional roles, with at least 5 years in senior leadership overseeing multiple human services programs.A strong educational background, including a Bachelor's degree (MBA or similar advanced degree preferred).UNT Wise Director Certification is preferred; CPR certification required.Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational leadership skills, with experience in program excellence, measurement, and evaluation.Genuine commitment to Avondale House’s mission, with the ability to communicate and embody the organization’s values.Physical and Other Requirements:Ability to implement Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) techniques.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for 2-3 hours at a time.Valid Texas Driver's License required.Background Check RequiredThe above statements are intended to describe the work being performed by others assigned to this position.
