Job Title: Production Manager - Agriculture
Pay range: $115k-150,000 salary, DIRECT HIRE

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Production Manager to oversee and optimize the production process within our agricultural operations. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of crop production, from planning and budgeting to overseeing daily operations and ensuring high-quality output. The Production Manager will collaborate closely with various departments and external partners to ensure the successful execution of production goals while maximizing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Strategy:
Develop and execute long-term production plans that align with company goals. Manage planting schedules, crop rotation, and substrate management (acreage, ranches, and water usage).
Budgeting & Financial Oversight:
Prepare and manage operational and financial budgets, including capital expenditures. Track expenses, manage variances, and deliver regular financial and production reports to senior management.
Operational Efficiency:
Identify and implement improvements to production processes, ensuring maximum efficiency, minimizing waste, and optimizing yield while maintaining cost control.
Team Leadership & Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage the production team, ensuring high standards of performance, safety, and productivity. Foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Coordination:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, quality assurance, and logistics. Coordinate with external partners, such as suppliers and contractors, to ensure smooth operations.
Crop Maintenance & Harvesting:
Oversee all aspects of crop maintenance, soil preparation, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting. Ensure that production timelines are met while maintaining the quality and consistency of crops.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure compliance with all relevant agricultural regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards. Promote safe working practices and address any issues proactively.
Reporting & Analysis:
Provide periodic updates on production progress, financial performance, and any challenges faced. Use data analysis to inform decision-making and drive improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agribusiness, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in agricultural production management, with a proven track record in crop production, budgeting, and team leadership.
- Strong understanding of agricultural operations, including soil science, irrigation systems, pest management, and crop forecasting.
- Proficiency in using production management software and HRIS systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations within the agriculture industry.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in working with large-scale agricultural operations.
- Familiarity with sustainable farming practices and innovations in agriculture technology.
