Position Overview: The Communications Manager will lead Bellwether Housing's marketing and communications efforts to strengthen connections between residents, supporters, and partners. By shaping the organization's public perception, the Communications Manager will engage stakeholders and donors in Bellwether Housing's mission to create stable communities and expand access to opportunity through affordable housing. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for social impact, storytelling, and brand-building, helping to advance Bellwether Housing's vision of diverse, inclusive communities where people of all incomes and backgrounds share the prosperity of our region.
Work Schedule: Hybrid - 3 days onsite. Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. The final schedule is to be determined by the supervisor.
Your Impact:
- Develop communications that connect residents to our individual and corporate supporters and partners, leading our supporters to a better understanding of the strengths and needs of our residents and the work done by the Resident Services team.
- Create SEO strategies and high-quality and engaging content that reliably generates qualified organic traffic.
- Utilize Google AdWords to maximize engagement, and increase visibility to Bellwether's initiatives.
- Conduct keyword research to target the right audiences, create content that aligns with Google Ad Grants strategy, set up Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Tag Manager, and identify and leverage creative opportunities for new campaigns.
- Draft and publish blog and social media posts, newsletter articles, news releases, op-eds, and other content that highlights partners, staff, or the organization generally.
- Develop and update content and visuals for programmatic print and digital materials, such as emails, flyers, presentations, and brochures.
- Manage external vendor relationships and project execution for communication needs such as translations, print materials, graphic design, and website updates.
- Serve as project manager for the website, working with the Property Management, Talent Acquisition, IT, and Real Estate Development teams.
- Develop and post social media copy and visuals, maintain calendar and monitor engagement for multiple platforms including BlueSky, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, and handle routine and ad hoc upkeep of social platforms.
- Write content for, layout, edit, gather content for, send newsletters, and manage other email needs via MailChimp.
- Make data-driven decisions, ensuring marketing and traffic strategies across all channels optimize for efficiency and performance.?
Requirements
Who You Are: - Experience building, executing, and scaling cross-functional programs or marketing campaigns from concept to completion.
- Experience managing and measuring marketing performance in various channels.
- Experience integrating CRM and web design software and creating online forms and surveys. Salesforce and MailChimp experience are a plus.
- Creative, thoughtful, and curious mindset.
- Experience using SQL or other analytical tools for conducting data analysis.
- Strong design sensibility; ability to manage shaping/driving of supporter perception and behavior with compelling concepts and art direction.
- General knowledge of affordable housing issues in Seattle, or an interest and willingness to learn.

- A bachelor's degree and/or four years of experience in communications, marketing, sales, or nonprofit fund development.
