JOB OVERVIEW Under the Store Manager supervision, the
RECEIVER worker performs the following duties:
TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Receive and scan shipments from direct vendors, verifying quantities of each product
- Open up receiving dock, move pallets, set up
- Responsible for ensuring all incoming products are received properly into the system and meet quality/condition standards
- Ability to prioritize and differentiate between shipments (notice perishables)
- Responsible for notifying appropriate departments of perishable arrivals and when they are ready to be stocked to avoid breaking the cold chain
- Distribute shipments and departments
- Receive and scan UPS and FedEx shipments between direct shipments
- Stamp, sign and file all invoices appropriately
- Note all damaged and missing product on invoice clearly. Communicate all "not on files" to Data Entry and Department Managers
- Follow all written receiving procedures correctly
QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:
Training/Education:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate
Experience
- Familiarity with UPC codes and data entry is a plus
Knowledge of:
- Computer literacy is a must
- Excellent basic math skills in order to perform calculations
Ability to:
- Verbal proficiency of the English language, and be able to read and write English at an advanced level
- Work in an accurate manner in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for coworkers and customers
- Comply with company standards and directives
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: - Move product through various stages of the warehouse and sales floor, using dollies, carts and electric pallet jacks
- Lift various items up to 50 lbs., over 100 times per day, from 6" to 60"
- Carry various items, from pallets &boxes to carts and dollies. Max distance carried 25 ft.
- Push/Pull carts and dollies, including use of electric pallet jack
