Payroll Specialist
The Human Resources Specialist of Payroll plays a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, a comprehensive understanding of payroll procedures, and exceptional organizational skills. The role involves collaborating closely with HR and finance teams to streamline payroll processes, resolve payroll discrepancies, and provide guidance on payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical abilities, proficiency in payroll software systems, and a commitment to upholding confidentiality and data accuracy.
Essential Duties:
Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including data entry, verification, and reconciliation of employee information.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding payroll and taxation.
Collaborate with HR to address employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and benefits.
Conduct audits to guarantee accuracy and resolve discrepancies in payroll processing.
Maintain payroll records and generate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure adherence to best practices.
Assist in implementing and improving payroll processes and systems to enhance efficiency.
Ensures the accuracy and reliability of Payroll Information and documentation from staff, supervisors, Human Resources and outside agencies. Input, reconcile, and coordinate with software vendor the semi-monthly payroll.
Process semi-monthly TSA payments.
Process weekly client allowance and related payments and check deposits.
Process semi-monthly Labor accounting distribution journals.
Process Employee Benefit accumulation and cost Allocations through Accounting Journals.
Prepare & distribute semi-monthly timecard processing error memorandum to supervisors.
Control and coordinate with Cottage Supervisors, client savings from deposit, account distribution, reconciliation and payouts upon emancipation.
Other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS degree and experience in a related field. Applicant should possess excellent verbal, written, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Must be able to communicate effectively, work independently, and follow both oral and written instructions. Knowledge and experience in residential and community-based social services programs is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
Must possess a valid California driver's license. Bi-lingual Spanish-proven proficiency will result in an additional stipend to base pay. Ability to cross-train and assist in other Human Resources functions as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with MS Office, including Excel.
2 years of Paylocity payroll experience
Government Contracting experience
Salary Range : $56,160 - $61,766
