Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Torts and Insurance Defense Paralegal to join our team in Fort Myers.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and a solid background in civil litigation, particularly in tort and insurance defense matters.

  • Assist attorneys in all aspects of torts and insurance defense litigation, from case inception to resolution.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, responses, subpoenas, and motions.
  • Manage case files, ensuring all records, documents, and deadlines are well-organized and up to date.
  • Conduct legal research and compile case law and statutes relevant to ongoing cases.
  • Coordinate discovery processes, including document collection, review, and production.
  • Summarize medical records, depositions, and other pertinent documents.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, trial binders, and witness lists.
  • Communicate with clients, experts, and witnesses to schedule interviews, depositions, and meetings.
  • Monitor court deadlines and ensure compliance with applicable rules and procedures.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, scheduling, and maintaining case calendars.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate’s degree or higher in Paralegal Studies or a related field. Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in tort and insurance defense litigation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software.
  • Strong knowledge of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage deadlines effectively.
