JOB DESCRIPTION

The Surgical Technician, under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of surgical patients who come under his /her care. The Surgical Technician is responsible for assisting the physician with the preparation of and the technical aspects of the role of the scrub person during surgical procedures. Performs routine technical and various other duties as required.Preparing sterile operating rooms for surgeries.Sterilizing equipment and instruments.Stocking adequate supplies for surgery.Preparing patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites.Providing support during surgery by passing instruments and other supplies.Tracking surgical supplies.Staying up-to-date on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures.Working well with surgeons, surgical assistant, nurses and general surgical team.Helping provide great patient care.QUALIFICATIONS

BLS/ACLSTwo + years of surgical technology experienceEducation:

High School graduateCertification & License:

Surg Tech Certification required.DORA is required.National Certification (NBSTSA)Requirements:
