Kforce's client, an industry-leading healthcare client located in San Francisco, CA, is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Food Services to oversee the daily operations of their nutritional services department, including managing dietitians and ensuring top-tier patient care and food services. This role will drive improvements in productivity, care experience, and budget management, while maintaining a strong focus on quality, regulatory compliance, and vendor relationships. This position is onsite 5 days a week in San Francisco across three locations. This is contract to hire, and expect to convert to FTE very early in assignment.Manage and guide a team of dietitians and staff to ensure efficient operation of nutritional servicesDrive recruitment, selection, and development of talent, ensuring alignment with organizational needsEmpower and motivate teams by aligning resource plans with business objectives and fostering continuous learningOversee the management of food services operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety standardsAnalyze resources, costs, and forecasts to incorporate them into business plans, prioritizing and distributing resources effectivelyLead strategic planning, procurement, inventory management, and storage to maintain efficient food servicesRevise and implement company standards for cleaning and sanitizing procedures to meet regulatory and compliance guidelinesEnsure vendor contracts are in place, and establish performance metrics to ensure service delivery is safe, sanitary, and compliantBuild and maintain long-term relationships with vendors, ensuring services align with organizational needs and regulatory standardsOversee food procurement, storage, and distribution, directing strategic planning for inventory and ensuring proper usage and complianceLead quality improvement initiatives to ensure high service standards are met consistentlyRequirements
Master's degree in Management, Business Administration, Nutrition Science, Culinary Arts, or a related field.A current Registered Dietitian Certification is a hard requirementCurrent SERVSAFE Manager certificate or a successfully completed sanitation course within the last year5+ years of experience in food service operations or a directly related field, with at least 3 years of experience managing food services or dietary teams3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office, web-based applications, and PC-based toolsStrong organizational and strategic thinking skills to manage day-to-day operationsExcellent people skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and lead diverse teamsAbility to analyze resources, costs, and forecasts and incorporate them into effective business plansProven experience with vendor management, procurement, and compliance standardsCan work cross-functionally and manage complex, high-stakes projectsDeep understanding of food service operations, nutrition care, and the healthcare or restaurant industries, along with a track record of implementing strategies to improve quality and efficiencyKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
