Principal Technical Recruiter and Executive Search Consultant -- What's Your Recruiting Project?

SUMMARYThe Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) will be responsible for leading the accounting and financial reporting function, including related controls, processes, and systems. The position also will lead the accounts receivable and payable functions as well as payroll. The CAO will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will be an integral member of the finance and accounting (F&A) leadership team, as well as an integral member of the general executive leadership. The CAO will work closely with other members of the F&A team, including the CFO-Mexico, Sr. Director FP&A, and VP Internal Audit, and their respective teams. Additionally, the CAO will interact regularly with other members of the company’s management and board of directors. The CAO will be the primary point of contact with the company’s external auditors and will interact regularly with the company’s tax and legal advisors.REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or EconomicsCertified Public Account (CPA), with previous Big 4 experience preferredMinimum 15 years of relevant experience, including leadership rolesExperience designing and implementing controls and SOXTeam-oriented, collaborative leader who builds trust and mentors teamsContinuous improvement mindset with demonstrated history of implementing changes in process and structure to improve accounting function and business operations broadlyExecutive presence and composure interacting with leadership, board members, and investorsStrong verbal and written communication skillsHighly analytical with strong conceptual skillsRESPONSIBILITIES:Ensuring financial statement integrity in accordance with GAAP by implementing and maintaining high standards of performance for closing and reporting processesLeading the corporate closing process, preparing required financial reports (e.g. 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K), and improving reporting cycle times by introducing process efficienciesDeveloping accounting strategies including the adoption of new accounting standardsDeveloping and ensuring compliance with corporate controls and policies for risks associated with financial reporting (SOX) and other corporate functions in partnership with Internal AuditWorking with F&A leadership to develop tools to improve visibility of operating performanceLeading accounting related diligence activities for potential M&ASeniority level
