About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission of nurturing and advocating for LGBTQ writers. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and inspirational leader with a strong understanding of the nonprofit space, deep financial acumen, and a personal connection to the LGBTQ reading and writing communities. They will be responsible for executive and operational leadership, overseeing a dedicated team, and ensuring the organization's impact and sustainability. This role demands a visionary leader with a proven track record in fundraising, strong financial management skills, and a commitment to justice, equity, and inclusion. The Executive Director will also serve as the chief spokesperson, driving the organization's visibility, and will be expected to maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders and lead advocacy campaigns.Candidates for the Executive Director position should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with at least five years in executive or senior management in nonprofit management. The role requires a leader with the ability to set and implement a strategic vision, manage operational budgets, and work effectively with diverse teams. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, an effective communicator, and a proactive problem-solver. They must have a passionate belief in the value of LGBTQ literature and a strong professional reputation for integrity and accountability. Experience in the literary sector is beneficial but not mandatory, as long as the candidate demonstrates the ability to adapt to the industry's evolving landscape.
