A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join their team in Walnut Creek, CA. This full-time position is ideal for an individual with 3 months to 3 years of litigation experience, licensed to practice law in California. As a key member of the litigation team, the associate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of cases, including those related to construction law, real estate, corporate/business, employment, environmental, and more. This role offers the chance to develop legal skills while contributing to cases in both state and federal courts.Duties Assist in the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and client correspondence.Conduct legal research and apply relevant case law and statutes to evaluate liability in various legal matters.Participate in meetings with clients to discuss case progress and provide legal advice.Draft letters to clients, and prepare responses and requests for discovery.Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and participate in client consultations.Represent the firm in both state and federal courts throughout California.Support a wide range of practice areas, including construction law, real estate, corporate law, employment, environmental law, insurance, and municipal issues.Develop strong communication and advocacy skills through hands-on legal experience.Requirements 3 months to 3 years of prior litigation experience, ideally in a law firm setting.Admitted to practice law in California (active California State Bar license).Excellent analytical and legal writing abilities.Strong oral communication and advocacy skills.Ability to effectively apply case law and statutes to real-world legal issues.Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to managing cases.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Skills Strong legal research and writing skills.Proficiency in litigation tasks, including drafting pleadings and managing discovery.Knowledge of construction, real estate, corporate, and employment law (preferred but not required).Effective client communication and consultation skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Experience with state and federal court procedures.This is an exciting opportunity for a driven attorney looking to build their career in a supportive and dynamic environment.
