Job Details:
This role involves working in a dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks and deadlines. You will support the team in various aspects of employment litigation, including document preparation, e-filing, scheduling, calendaring, and civil procedure. This position requires a strong sense of urgency and the ability to work independently on assignments with sound judgment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal support to attorneys, including preparing and filing legal documents in state and federal courts.
- Manage and maintain attorneys' calendars, including scheduling appointments, court dates, and deadlines.
- Assist in all aspects of employment litigation, including discovery, trial preparation, and case management.
- Conduct legal research as needed and assist in the preparation of legal memorandums.
- Facilitate the e-filing process in various courts and ensure all documents are filed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain electronic files and case management databases, ensuring all information is up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Respond to inquiries from clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information, in accordance with ethical obligations and company policy.
Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or similar role in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Extensive knowledge of employment litigation and civil procedure.
- Proficiency in e-filing in state and federal courts.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal research and legal terminology.
- Knowledge of legal document formatting and preparation.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating sound judgment and initiative.
