*POSITION TITLE:* Finance Controller
*REPORTS TO*: CEO
*PURPOSE*: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with specific knowledge of nonprofit accounting and mortgage processes. This role requires a proactive individual who can anticipate financial needs, go the extra mile to support our mission, honor commitments, and practice blameless problem solving. Above all, the Controller must always do the right thing, aligning with our core values.
*MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUG SCREEN AND BACKGROUND CHECK. PREFERRED CLEAN DRIVING RECORD FOR AT LEAST 3 YEARS.*
*Key Responsibilities:*
· Oversee and manage all financial accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.
· Collaborate with the outsourced accounting team to complete the month end close process including preparing and analyzing financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
· Oversee cash flow management and forecasting.
· Maintain and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
· Supervise one in-house accounts payable/receivable team member and one in-house Mortgage Manager.
· Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and the finance committee.
· Collaborate with senior management to coordinate the annual budget preparation and presentation process.
· Ensure timely and accurate completion of audits and tax filings.
· Collaborate with the outsourced accounting team to prepare for the annual financial statement audit.
· Support fundraising efforts by providing financial insights and analysis.
*Qualifications:*
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
· Knowledge of nonprofit accounting and financial management.
· Knowledge of mortgage processes and regulations.
· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
