The Sommelier is responsible for curating and maintaining an exceptional wine list, providing expert recommendations, and ensuring an outstanding guest experience. This role requires extensive wine knowledge, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and a commitment to the high standards of the Stockton Inn. Along with running beverage, they will act as a leader during service supporting management in the smooth flow of service.
Key Responsibilities: Curate and maintain an exceptional wine list that complements our seasonal menus.
Educate guests and staff about wine selections and pairings.
Manage inventory, ordering, and proper storage of wine.
Engage with guests to create memorable dining experiences through thoughtful wine recommendations.
Assist with staff training on wine knowledge and service techniques.
Qualifications: Certification from CMS, WSET, or equivalent preferred.
Extensive knowledge of Old World and New World wines.
At least 2 years of experience in a sommelier or wine service role.
Strong communication skills and ability to engage guests.
Passion for hospitality and creating an elevated dining experience.
