Maitre d'
Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and professional Maitre d' to join our team and provide exceptional front-facing service to our guests. This role is non-operational, focused on creating a memorable dining experience from the moment guests arrive until they depart. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of the menu, including seasonal offerings, and serve as the primary point of contact between guests, hosts, servers, and the back-of-house team.
Responsibilities:
- Guest Greeting & Interaction: Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival, ensuring a personalized and positive first impression. Manage guest expectations, confirm reservations, and guide guests to their table.
- Menu Knowledge: Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the menu, including all seasonal changes and specials. Be able to provide detailed descriptions and recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the host, servers, and kitchen staff to ensure timely service and smooth operations. Assist in the management of table assignments, ensuring that seating arrangements flow seamlessly and efficiently.
- Guest Experience: Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the meal, checking in periodically to address any needs or concerns, ensuring a top-tier dining experience.
- Conflict Resolution: Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and with a sense of urgency, escalating when necessary to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
- Customer Engagement: Foster a welcoming, respectful, and professional atmosphere that aligns with the restaurant’s standards and values. Engage with guests in a way that enhances the overall experience.
- Operational Support: Assist the management team with front-of-house logistics as needed, helping coordinate busy periods and ensuring that every aspect of service is running smoothly.
- Team Communication: Be a liaison between front-of-house and back-of-house teams, ensuring consistent service quality and helping resolve any service discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a guest-facing role, preferably in fine dining or hospitality settings.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with a confident and approachable demeanor.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- A deep understanding of food and beverage offerings, with a particular emphasis on seasonal menu changes and wine pairings.
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude, even under pressure.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members, management, and other departments.
