Dynamo room is a brand new steak house located at the recently developed Penn Station district in Manhattan.
The raw bar and grill is the newest project from Sunday Hospitality (Rule of Thirds, Sunday In Brooklyn, Cafe Chelsea, Lobby Bar, El Quijote, Bedford Post Inn), opening in March 2025.
We are currently hiring for all positions in FOH and BOH, with positions starting in March.

About This Role
Are you the straw that stirs the drink? Did Billy Joel write about you when he penned the line “quick with a joke or a light of your smoke’ ? Do you read & react so quickly, it’s so natural it goes unnoticed? Are you the person who never intended to lead, it just always happens? Are you always wearing a smile, no matter how heavy you’re under fire? If you answered yes to those questions then YOU ARE THE ONE WE SEEK!! The Maitre D’ is responsible for providing warm hospitality to guests, managing reservations and walk-in diners, helping to facilitate the flow of service throughout the night, and has a general command of the food and beverage menu. The Maitre D’ will work to provide impeccable hospitality to each of our clients, working specifically with each individual need to curate the best experience possible.
Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Greets guests and directs them to tables, knows all the players & regulars
- Takes walk-in reservations, figuring out the best way to seat guests and keep them smiling!
- Sends walk-ins to the bar or maintains a waitlist when necessary, does whatever necessary to keep the flow going.
- Constantly communicates table status with guests, ensuring everyone is always happy.
- Coordinates large party reservations, private dining requests, or special circumstances with management
What You Bring
- Minimum of 3+ years’ Maitre D’ experience in a high-volume NYC restaurant
- A positive attitude and passion for providing exceptional hospitality service
- A strong working knowledge of various reservations software
- Flexible work schedules: the ability to work night, weekends, holidays, as business may require
- The ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects, up to 30lbs
- Kneel, bend, or stoop, ascend or descend stairs; be on feet for extended periods of time
