Job Summary:
The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant’s menu and standard operating procedures. The position requires a deep understanding of various cooking techniques, an eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a Line Cook, you will play an integral part in delivering a flawless dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook dishes in assigned section (e.g., grill, sauté, fry, pastry, etc.) to meet quality and presentation standards.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely manner, maintaining speed and quality.
- Follow recipe guidelines and cooking techniques to produce high-quality dishes.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring all ingredients, tools, and equipment are readily available.
- Monitor food inventory levels and ensure ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
- Work with the Chefs to execute daily specials, seasonal menu items, and special event menus.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols, ensuring the kitchen is maintained according to health regulations.
- Assist with prep work before service, such as chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication and efficient operations.
- Perform any additional kitchen-related tasks as directed by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
- Ability to communicate in English efficiently
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or similar kitchen role, preferably in a fine dining or high-end restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and knife skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to established recipes and plating standards.
- Strong attention to detail and presentation.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a hot, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
