Position Summary

As the Door Guard at Three Top Lounge at The Salt Shed , you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of all patrons, staff, and assets. You will be responsible for monitoring entrances, enforcing The Salt Shed venue and Three Top Lounge Bar policies, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a high-end cocktail environment.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Verify identification by checking IDs and enforcing age restrictions in compliance with venue and legal requirements.
• Conduct bag checks and use metal-detecting wands (if required) to ensure no prohibited items enter the premises.
• Monitor capacity at entry and exit points to maintain a safe and orderly guest flow.
• Address guest inquiries, provide directions, and professionally assist with concerns.
• Enforce dress codes and guest list policies as set by venue management.
• De-escalate situations verbally and remove disruptive individuals when necessary.
• Conduct routine checks of the bar space and remain vigilant for any suspicious activity.
• Manage guest lists and scan tickets. Sell tickets/charge cover for events as needed.
• Activate the emergency response plan when necessary.
• Perform additional venue-specific tasks such as trash removal, assisting with line control, and maintaining the entry area (all other duties as assigned).

About You:

• Previous experience in nightlife, bar, or event security.
• 21 years or older.
• Current BASSET certification or ability to obtain before starting employment.
• Strong situational awareness with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Friendly, approachable demeanor with excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with security screening procedures and tools is a plus.
• Must be able to work late nights into early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Training in first aid, CPR is a plus.
• Training in de-escalation techniques preferred.
• Valid security certification or licensing is a plus.
