Position Summary:

As the Door Guard at the newest addition to The Salt Shed , you will ensure the safety and security of all patrons, staff, and assets. This laid-back neighborhood bar offers great drinks, good vibes, and a welcoming atmosphere. We’re all about fun, games, and creating a space to unwind. This exciting new concept will be an electrifying hub for entertainment and connection. The Door Guard is responsible for monitoring entrances, enforcing The Salt Shed venue and bar policies, and providing excellent customer service.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Verify identification by checking IDs and enforcing age restrictions in compliance with venue and legal requirements.
• Conduct bag checks and use metal-detecting wands (if required) to ensure no prohibited items enter the premises.
• Monitor capacity at entry and exit points to ensure a safe and orderly flow of guests.
• Handle guest inquiries, provide directions, and professionally assist with concerns.
• Enforce dress codes and guest list policies set by venue management.
• De-escalate situations verbally and remove disruptive individuals when necessary.
• Conduct routine checks of bar space and watch for any suspicious activity.
• Manage guest list and/or scanning of tickets. Sell tickets/charge cover for events.
• Activate the emergency response plan in the event of an emergency.
• Perform additional venue-specific tasks such as trash removal, assisting with line control, and general upkeep of the entry area (all other duties as assigned).

About You:

• Previous experience in nightlife, bar, or event security.
• 21 years or older.
• Current BASSET certification or ability to obtain prior to starting employment.
• Strong situational awareness and ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Friendly, approachable demeanor with excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with security screening procedures and tools is a plus.
• Must be able to work late nights into the early morning, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Training in first aid, CPR is a plus.
• Training in de-escalation techniques.
• Valid security certification or licensing is a plus.
