LHH is a global leader in talent solutions and recruitment. We are working with a well-established law firm in Lake Mary, FL, to find a skilled and experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal to join their team.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience working in insurance defense litigation. The role requires strong organizational, research, and writing skills, with a keen eye for detail. As a key member of the legal team, you will assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including pre-trial preparation, discovery, trial support, and post-trial motions.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage discovery documents and responses.
Draft and file legal pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
Assist in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials.
Review and summarize medical records, depositions, and other evidence.
Communicate with clients, experts, witnesses, and opposing counsel.
Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are in compliance with court rules and deadlines.
Perform legal research and assist attorneys in the preparation of legal arguments.
Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely filings with the court.
Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years of experience as a paralegal in insurance defense.
Strong knowledge of litigation processes and Florida rules of civil procedure.
Proficient in case management software, legal research tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
Paralegal certification from an accredited program is preferred, but not required.
Benefits:
Salary: $75,000-$85,000/yr.
