Remote work is possible if other skillsets are ideal for position.Division/College: College of Natural ResourcesEmployee Category: ExemptPay Range: Commensurate with experienceFTE: 1.0Full/Part Time: Full TimePosition Summary:This is a postdoctoral research position working in two primary areas: 1) modeling and evaluation of smartwatch, smartphone, and other human- and equipment-based sensor data and app development to improve the productivity, health and safety of forestry operations and workers. Research is being conducted collaboratively with partnering industrial and state forestland owners and the University of Idaho Experimental Forest, a fully operational smart and digital forestry and forest products test facility; and 2) analysis and design of a new solar energy coproduction system to reduce costs, increase revenue streams and improve the success of seedling establishment in intensive production forestry systems.
