This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of $10,000 with a 2-year work commitment.
Performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative.Responsibilities:
Ensures all images within his/her area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through the PACS, and are properly networked to appropriate electronic record for archival and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the procedures performedMaintains continuing education and competency requirements for position
Demonstrates a strong ability to interact with both patients and co-workers, while displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity and respect. Able to work as team member within the department and all other departments to expedite patient care efficiently
Identifies all patients properly by using two patient identifiers and utilizes universal protocol when performing procedures. Reviews patient history and assesses physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquisition of data. Documents patient history in electronic record as required
Maintains point of care testing standards, including daily quality control, for devices used for procedures
Demonstrates the ability to communicate instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner and explain procedures to help allay the patient?s fears and solicit their cooperation
Demonstrate proper positioning and appropriate radiographic techniques for all diagnostic and interventional procedures. Exhibits a clear understanding of correct patient preparation, equipment operations and patient monitoring systems
Demonstrates competency in functioning in the first assist position
Fosters an environment that supports aseptic technique during procedures and patient safety with the incorporation of a time-out process
Administers contrast under the direction of the procedure physician
Support other departments as directed or assignedMust demonstrate a basic knowledge of the operation of both equipment and suppliesSome responsibilities may not be applicable due to specific job locations
Provides stand by call coverage, as scheduled, in accordance with system-wide stand by call procedure/policy
Practices with attentiveness to radiation safety for the patient as well as others in the procedure room including appropriate use of lead shielding and monitoring devices. Assures documentation of patient radiation exposure in electronic record.
Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology (RT-R) or Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist (RCIS).Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:ARRT Certificate OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist required.
CPR certification is required. ACLS certification is desired upon hire. Successful completion of ACLS certification required within orientation period.
New graduates have 1 year to obtain their board certification.
ARRT Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology OR ARRT Certificate OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Echocardiograph and Ultrasound
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
