Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Inspector to oversee and guide inspection teams within an aviation environment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the highest safety standards, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, and determining the airworthiness of aircraft through comprehensive inspections. The Lead Inspector will be responsible for supervising inspection processes, making final determinations on engine compliance, and leading the release of aircraft back into service.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Leadership: Manage and guide inspection teams, assigning tasks, and ensuring inspections meet regulatory and quality standards.
Final Determination: Make decisive calls on engine compliance and airworthiness based on inspection results and industry regulations.
Quality Control: Review maintenance records, verify documentation, and enforce quality control protocols.
Technical Expertise: Utilize in-depth knowledge of aircraft engines, maintenance manuals, and regulatory standards to conduct accurate inspections.
Issue Identification & Reporting: Detect and document discrepancies, initiate corrective actions, and ensure all issues are addressed before releasing equipment back into service.
Problem-Solving: Analyze complex maintenance issues, identify root causes, and recommend effective repair solutions.
Training & Development: Mentor and train junior inspectors, ensuring they follow proper procedures and inspection techniques.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with FAA regulations and other relevant standards to ensure compliance in all inspection activities.
Requirements:
Certification: Valid Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License.
Experience: Extensive hands-on experience with aircraft engine maintenance and inspections, particularly with CFM and CF6 engines.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of FAA regulations, Service Bulletins (SBs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and Module Configuration Sheets.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop inspection teams in high-pressure environments.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional observation skills with the ability to identify even minor discrepancies that could impact safety.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to document findings and collaborate with maintenance teams.
Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
Standing, walking, and climbing for extended periods in hangar and field environments.
Dexterity to work with tools and perform detailed inspections in confined spaces.
