Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Interface Developer with expertise in EPIC systems to support the Enterprise Development and Integration team at MDA for EPIC upgrade projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting interfaces to ensure seamless communication between healthcare systems. This position involves working with healthcare data standards such as HL7 and FHIR, conducting testing in environments like Iguana, and managing EPIC upgrades, including Nova Notes and cloud migrations. Candidates must hold up-to-date EPIC certification and possess a strong understanding of healthcare compliance and security requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain system interfaces using integration engines.
  2. Write and maintain scripts to support interface development and integration processes.
  3. Integrate external APIs into existing systems to enable seamless communication.
  4. Work with healthcare data standards such as HL7 and FHIR to facilitate data exchange between systems.
  5. Ensure compliance with HL7 standards and HIPAA regulations.
  6. Conduct batch testing and testing in Iguana environments to ensure interface reliability.
  7. Support EPIC upgrades, including managing Nova Notes, work queues, and migrations to cloud environments.
  8. Address and resolve Sherlock tickets through EPIC systems.
  9. Leverage Bridges Certification to manage EPIC’s Bridges interface effectively.
  10. Provide technical support to address and resolve interface-related issues.
  11. Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and project progress.
  12. Assist with multiple small projects under the team’s scope to ensure continuous team productivity.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience with EPIC systems, including Nova Notes and cloud migrations.
  2. Previous hospital or healthcare industry experience preferred.
  3. Strong knowledge of HL7 and FHIR healthcare data standards.
  4. Familiarity with integration engines and environments like Iguana.
  5. Understanding of HIPAA compliance and security requirements.
  6. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve interface-related issues efficiently.
  7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience managing EPIC upgrades and migrations.
  2. Ability to handle multiple small projects under tight deadlines.
