Our client is a public accounting firm. They seek a Tax Manager, State & Local Tax to join their Bethesda, MD office.

Responsibilities

1. Build client relationships and knowledge of their businesses
2. Liaise with Tax Partners to satisfy the needs of planning compliance
3. Assess and manage firm risk on tax services performed
4. Research, write, and consult on various tax engagements
5. Answer inquiries from state tax authorities
6. Responsible for sales tax and other tax return preparation
7. Supervise and mentor staff and review and evaluate their work
8. Manage multiple clients, budgets, and production goals

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s in Accounting, MST preferred
2. 10+ years of progressive tax experience
3. 6+ years of SALT experience
4. Public accounting background required
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
6. Organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
7. Strong managerial and leadership skills
8. CPA, EA, or JD required
