Laboratory AssistantJob DescriptionAs a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a crucial role in receiving and processing donated blood products. You will ensure that all blood products are appropriately stored and accurately entered into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) following standard operating procedures (SOPs).Responsibilities+ Receive donated blood products from vendors.+ Process donated blood products by reading blood bags and entering information into LIS.+ Follow SOPs for receiving and processing blood products.+ Appropriately store blood products according to protocol.Essential Skills+ Experience in laboratory processing and accessioning.+ Proficiency in data entry.+ High school diploma with lab experience or an associate degree in a science field.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.+ Ability to follow SOPs and protocols.Work EnvironmentIn Cleveland, Ohio. The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to work well under stress. Shifts are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with a weekend rotation every third weekend and a day off during the week. The role also includes a holiday rotation, working one summer and one winter holiday. The defined holidays are New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
