Job Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Lead Engineer oversees and manages the maintenance operations of a commercial building. Responsibilities include installing, repairing, and maintaining facility equipment, utilities, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and electronic systems. This role may also serve as a lead and act as a backup for the Project Manager when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide technical support to maintenance staff.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs and ensure timely repairs.
- Conduct equipment inspections and quality checks.
- Troubleshoot and maintain HVAC systems, electrical substations, fire safety systems, generators, and lighting.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
- Maintain inventory and assist with parts and material storage.
- Develop training programs for maintenance personnel.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and contract specifications.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and operational malfunctions.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: 3-5 years in maintenance engineering, preferably in an industrial or commercial setting. Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general facility maintenance. Ability to use tools, testing instruments, and read blueprints.
- Software Proficiency: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Certifications (Preferred): Electrical License, Universal Refrigerant License.
- Other Requirements: Must be eligible for government security clearance.
Work Conditions & Schedule:
- Full-time (40 hours/week) with possible weekend shifts and overtime.
- Work involves exposure to varying temperatures, confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- May require working at heights up to 30 feet using ladders.
- Designated as essential personnel in emergencies.
