In this role, you will evaluate existing buildings and design solutions for complex structural challenges. Projects will range from residential and commercial structures to adaptive reuse and repairs for fire, wind, flood, and impact damage. Some structural design work for commercial, industrial, and hospitality buildings may also be involved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural evaluations and condition assessments of existing buildings.
- Develop as-built drawings and repair designs based on building codes and industry standards.
- Research and apply historical and current building codes.
- Perform field assessments, including working at heights, in confined spaces, and on rooftops.
- Design upgrades, restorations, and maintenance solutions for structural systems.
- Lead projects, managing scope, schedule, and budget.
- Provide technical expertise in client meetings and business development efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (structural focus preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 8+ years of structural design experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with BIM is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

- Strong knowledge of commercial and residential structural systems.
- Expertise in load calculations, material selection, and performance criteria.
- Ability to write clear, concise reports and manage project budgets and timelines.
- Strong communication skills to engage with staff, clients, and property owners.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, ensuring quality assurance and compliance.
- Independent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
