A Leading Vertically Integrated Installer and O&M Provider of Utility Scale Solar Projects. The are looking for a Solar Technician with experience with Utility Scale Solar Projects. This individual must be based in either Milwaukee WI or Chicago Illinois as these are central locations for their existing sites. This organization is willing to provide RELOCATION ASSISTANCE.
Position Summary: This role involves managing equipment operations to ensure efficiency and safety, leading a team of five technicians, and coordinating projects by obtaining quotes and effectively communicating updates with site leads and office staff. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and maintaining solar sites, commissioning utility sites, performing ground fault analysis, and certifying team members' skills. The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills. Candidates must be able to perform duties with reasonable accommodation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor equipment operations to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Obtain price quotes for suppliers and labor estimates for projects.
- Communicate project requirements and updates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with coworkers, vendors, and contractors.
- Lead a team of up to five technicians.
- De-energize and troubleshoot solar sites.
- Perform corrective maintenance.
- Commission utility sites.
- Perform ground fault analysis.
- Certify team members on mastered skills.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Education:
- High School Diploma: Required
Preferred Experience and/or Training:
- Journeyman Electrician
- NABCEP Certification
- IR Scan Analysis
- Arc Flash Certification
- SWPPP Certification
Required Licenses/Certificates:
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
- IV Curve Analysis
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Minimum of 3 years of solar maintenance experience
