The NFL is looking for a seasoned technical leader who is passionate about delivering world-class applications to our millions of fans. This leader will be able to make an impact on the future of our Connected TV applications. This person will guide a remote team of software engineers delivering the front-end experience across both native and web-based applications and should enjoy staying at the forefront of technology trends while working with amazing partners. You and your team will work with our product team to continue keeping the Connected TV applications aligned with evolving business needs. We're looking for someone who is collaborative, resourceful, and can communicate complex ideas with ease. This position requires excellent communication skills, and a "get-it-done" mindset to ensure results are delivered while also encouraging creativity, innovation, and inclusion. The ideal candidate is adept at designing solutions that the team can run with but is also not afraid to roll up their sleeves and help when needed.
Responsibilities- Own the technical direction for our Connected TV applications including Roku, AppleTV, AndroidTV, FireTV, LG, Vizio, and Xbox
- Contribute to the technical leadership team and our shared values of creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work community
- Help your team make decisions around designing solutions and approaches to meet business expectations in an efficient manner
- Collaborate with product and project team members to ensure timely delivery of quality releases
- Contribute to planning and assignment of development tasks for the team
- Drive the team to deliver and execute the technical and product roadmap for CTV engineering across multiple engineering teams
- Own the technical roadmap and evolution of our Connected/SmartTV platform in coordination with other engineering teams, product, and business stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for improvement in engineering practices and software delivery
Required Qualifications- 5-7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
- 3-5+ years of experience leading software development teams
- Experience influencing best practices within your team
- Comfortable communicating architecture to all levels of management and product owners
- Experience taking a lead role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Knowledge of best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Superior communication and people skills
- Ability to build support for architectural decisions and ideas by working with various Technical Engineering Leads
Required Qualifications- Advanced experience with React Native
- tvOS, AndroidTV/GoogleTV, and FireTV experience
- Experience with, or desire to learn, BrightScript (Roku)
- Experience with SmartTV platforms (Vizio, LG, Xbox, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
- Familiarity with CI/CD build and deployment practices
Other Key Attributes / Characteristics- Familiarity with the Media and Entertainment industry

Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
Salary
$175,000-$200,000 USD
