Job Summary: Implementation & Training Services help new and existing customers successfully onboard and launch with D2L products. We prioritize partnering with our customers by adopting a consultative approach.
As a Senior Implementation Specialist, you will partner with a project manager and an implementation consultant to lead implementation projects across all verticals (K12, Higher Education, Corporate, Government). Being the strong technical expert, you will be responsible for executing on client implementation projects including configuring the D2L platform, add-on tools, customizations, and integrations between a client's implementation of the D2L products and other existing systems. You will also be involved in evaluation of new technical solutions and integrations between D2L products and partner platforms. This is a project-oriented role and most of the tasks completed in this role would be considered billable. Travel may be required.
The role has responsibilities that traverse a broad spectrum of technical, business, and project accountability including scoping and pre-sales support, requirements facilitation, business analysis, technical solution design, and solution implementation.
What you’ll bring to the role: Strong technical expert for implementation projects:
Gather technical requirements for integrations with client systems, such as:
Authentication Systems
Student Registration/Information Systems
Email Systems
Library Services
Portals
Work with clients to plan deployment of integrations and customizations with client systems, and execute on the plan including testing and providing recommendations for ongoing support and maintenance of these integrations and customizations.
Deliver on projects across multiple clients concurrently.
Operate independently to execute on customer commitments.
Create and provide documentation and resources to customers.
Collaborate cross-functionally to solution creatively and resolve challenges.
Occasionally partner with the sales team to provide pre-sales support and scope out suitable products and services that meet the client's requirements.
Technical Solutions Development:
Create reusable components to meet client needs.
Identify and resolve gaps between client requirements and D2L products.
Work with Product Management team to develop roadmaps for the integration tools.
Raise critical issues and concerns to product and executives as required.
Keep existing implementation solution documentation updated for integration and migration solutions.
Internal knowledge and process improvement.
Identify and resolve gaps in processes and documentation.
Share knowledge gained with peers.
Provide guidance to other implementation specialists by mentoring and assisting in analyzing complex technical cases and solutions to deliver a successful implementation.
Keep up-to-date with D2L and partner products and processes.
Keep up to date with new technology trends to help facilitate client learning solutions.
Contribute to internal improvement initiatives as required.
Participate in other billable and non-billable responsibilities as required.
Ability to instill confidence and influence customers' decisions in a consultative manner as a trusted advisor.
Outstanding proficiency in collaborating with clients and internal stakeholders to coordinate requirements and priorities to deliver on initiatives.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to speak to a variety of different audiences with various levels of technical acumen.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, resulting in creative solutioning.
Ability to multitask many simultaneous projects using strong organizational skills and prioritizes effortlessly.
Strong commitment to continuous learning to stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices.
Skills: Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and emerging technologies.
Database knowledge.
Working experience with the following technologies:

Business Intelligence tools (i.e. Tableau, Power BI)

HTML/HTML5/CSS
SQL
Work Experience: At least 5 years of relevant work experience or equivalent co-op/internship experience.
At least 3 years of experience working with relevant programming technologies.
At least 3 years of experience working with Internet technologies.
Experience working with one or more of the following considered an asset:
Learning Management Systems
Education or Corporate Training sector
Public Company
Education: University degree/diploma or equivalent in relevant field considered an asset.
The expected base salary range for a new hire in this role is listed below. The annualized base salary offered is determined by each candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, training, and experience. It is aligned to ensure both internal and external competitiveness using market data for the geographic location and industry. As part of the total compensation at D2L, the role may be eligible for additional benefits including a Wellness Subsidy, Equity Grants, Variable Incentive, and more.
Base Salary Range: $78,000 — $98,000 CAD
