Ferroglobe is seeking a skilled and experienced Millwright to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabrication, welding, and industrial electrical work, and will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment. The Millwright will ensure that all machinery operates efficiently and safely, contributing to the overall productivity of the facility.
What you will do:

  • Installation and Maintenance: Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans and blueprints.
  • Fabrication and Welding: Fabricate and weld components as needed for equipment repairs and installations, ensuring high-quality and durable results.
  • Electrical Work: Perform basic electrical work, including troubleshooting and repairing electrical components and systems related to machinery.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, identify solutions, and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work, including parts used and time spent on each task.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance team members and production staff to coordinate repairs and installations without disrupting operations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to maintenance processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
What we seek:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical or vocational training program in millwrighting, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a millwright, with proven experience in fabrication, welding, and basic electrical work.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, welding equipment, and machinery
    • Ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematics, and technical manuals
    • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Certifications: Welding certification and/or electrical certification is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to stand, work, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
    • Comfortable working in varying temperatures and conditions, including confined spaces and heights.
Working Environment:
  • Performs jobs under varying conditions (dust, oil, grease, hot and humid temperatures, fumes, noise, etc.)
  • Ability to lift 100lbs, Floor to waist, Waist to shoulder. Overhead, Carry 20+ feet
  • Wears proper PPE in the manufacturing area (shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection)
