Job Title: Quality Technician IIJob Description

The Quality Technician II analyzes process samples as received and performs non-routine analysis as requested. The role involves analyzing finished goods and raw materials by chemical, physical, and instrumental means to ensure quality. The position requires the ability to work a 12-hour shift schedule (7pm-7am) on a rotating basis, including potential night shifts and occasional overtime.

Responsibilities

  Perform in-process testing for internal customers.

  Conduct finished goods, returned goods, and stability testing for external customers as needed.

  Analyze process control samples and report results in a timely manner using approved procedures and proper laboratory techniques.

  Maintain accurate and precise records of all laboratory analyses using the appropriate recordkeeping system.

  Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on laboratory instrumentation.

  Prepare all standards and reagents needed for proper execution of analytical methods and procedures.

  Prioritize and plan workload and team assignments to meet internal and external customer needs efficiently and accurately.

  Assist in non-routine analytical work to solve plant problems.

  Use problem-solving skills to aid in failure investigations and testing problems.

  Perform non-routine quality control tasks such as resampling, raw material testing, and method/equipment validation analysis.

  Participate in a certified 5S Workplace System to ensure good housekeeping and organization.

Essential Skills

n
• n

  Associate degree or Technical degree in a related field required.

  n
n
• n

  B.S. degree in Physical Science or related field preferred.

• n

  1-3 years of laboratory experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing operation preferred.

• n

  Working knowledge of cGMP is a plus.

n

Work Environment

Most work is performed in a well-equipped analytical laboratory, featuring fume hoods, laboratory benches, analytical glassware, and instruments. Sampling occurs in a warehouse or processing area. The role involves handling and transporting boxes of solvents, compressed gas cylinders, old records, and reserve samples. There is exposure to fugitive emissions of chemicals typical for chemical operations. Normal dexterity is required for routine handling of laboratory glassware and instruments, with the ability to visualize colors and distinguish slight differences in liquid volumes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and other equipment as required by EH&S guidelines must be worn.
