( Functions & ResponsibilitiesnnRoutinely assesses facility equipment and structures to identify necessary maintenance and repairs to maintain safe and operable conditions.nnTroubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing and equipment repair or replacement for assigned programs.nnCompletes routine and emergency repairs to equipment, fixtures, fittings and building systems for assigned programs based on MRFs; escalates more complex repairs to management.nnPromptly communicates all facility maintenance issues with the program supervisor or designee.nnPurchases supplies, equipment, and materials necessary to complete projects.nnMaintains a work area that is clean and organized; ensures tools and equipment are safe, clean, and in good working condition.nnMoves furniture, deliveries, packages, and other large items as required.nnTracks and reports completed tasks and assignments.nnReports repairs and all hazardous conditions to management on a timely basis.nnResponds quickly in the event of an emergency, notifies appropriate management, and follows safety protocols.nnTravels between various YAI facilities and supply stores (i.e., Home Depot, local hardware store, etc.) to purchase and/or transport supplies or to complete additional assignments, as directed.nnMay operate YAI motor vehicle to transport materials or tools, particularly in areas with limited public transportation or when transporting large items.nnAttends job training and safety programs as required.nnAdheres to company policies, safety regulations and OSHA requirements.nnPerforms all other duties as assigned.nnMinimum Qualification Requirements including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities (e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.)nnHigh school diploma or GED andnnSix (6) months related experience, including minor repairs and use of tools and equipment; andnnAbility to perform designated responsibilities including lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds; using power driven and regular hand tools, bending, crouching, kneeling and standing, working confined spaces, working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions.nnWorking knowledge of hand and power tools, common appliances, and devices.nnAbility to work independently, organized, and able to multitask.nnPreferred Qualification Requirements (desired requirements beyond MQRs above)nnValid NY State Driver's License highly preferred for assignments in areas with limited public transportation.nnBasic knowledge and awareness of ID/DD, including knowledge of their unique environmental needs.nnAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or status as a Vietnam or disabled veteran.
