Job Description

Supervises the daily activities of skilled maintenance personnel and assists with maintenance project work as assigned. Provides key leadership while promoting positive employee relations within the maintenance team. Supervisor is held accountable to ensure maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements, compliance with legal and company policies, and procedures in a manner consistent with SGC CertainTeed LLC Principles of Conduct and Action.nnDirectly supervises the hourly skilled maintenance employees in the improvement and maintenance of plant equipment, building maintenance, machinery, utilities etc. Will lead shift safety meetings to ensure compliance to all safety, environmental and health policies, procedures, and practices.nnOrganize and structure planned and unplanned repairs and preventive maintenance routines in a manner that will ensure efficient operation of equipment and plant operating systems.nnCommunicates & documents employee expectations and assess employee performance. Provides coaching and development opportunities of maintenance crews and administers disciplinary action up to and including termination if needed. Will be required to assist in the evaluation and selection process of hiring hourly employees.nnWorks with Maintenance Superintendent/Manager to develop PM’S that drive improved reliability as well as developing and maintaining standard – will maintain records of all plant and individual equipment performance.nnOversees the training of maintenance employees to ensure they receive adequate training prior to repairing/working on any of the manufacturing equipment per standard operating and maintenance procedures, and work instructions.nnAssists in performing root-cause analysis as well as implementing sustainable countermeasures on losses related to equipment/machinery failure.nnReviews and approves employee time in the UKG timekeeping system and ensures employees are paid the correct hours and wages in accordance with the respective sites pay policies and procedures or collective bargaining agreements.nnRequirementsnn4 year engineering degree preferred (equivalent experience may be considered)nnTechnical diploma in the fields of engineering/manufacturing or equivalent experience and a thorough knowledge of skills utilized in maintenance manufacturing improvement.nn3 to 5 years of Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferrednnHigh level of knowledge/understanding of Preventive Maintenance (PM) tracking systems.nnGeneral understanding of ISO methodology (ISO 9001, 14001, & OHSAS 18001)nnFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM,- 5S & Six Sigma a plusnnProficient in use of MS Office (familiarity with UKG and SAP systems) – high level knowledge of computer systems/programs especially in areas of preventive maintenance solutions/tracking.-nnAbility to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution –------- working knowledge of electrical systems is a plus.nnCertain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $68,700 to $106,300 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.nnIn addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 9% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures.
