Litigation Associate - Philadelphia, PA (Law Firm)
Our client is a prominent medium-sized defense law firm located in Center City, Philadelphia, PA, with a strong presence across multiple offices and a dedicated team of over a hundred attorneys. Our firm focuses on delivering exceptional legal services in civil litigation, particularly in defending clients against mass tort and toxic tort claims. Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage litigation cases from inception to conclusion in both state and federal courts, conducting comprehensive legal analysis and crafting strategic recommendations.
- Handle depositions of key witnesses, including plaintiffs, and effectively communicate case updates to clients.
- Collaborate with paralegals to ensure efficient case management, including drafting motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Utilize e-Discovery tools for managing discovery requests and responses, ensuring compliance with all relevant legal standards.
- Apply expertise in civil litigation, toxic torts, asbestos, and/or mass torts to navigate complex legal issues and contribute to case strategies.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA accredited law school.
- PA (Pennsylvania), DE (Delaware), and/or New Jersey (NJ) State Bar admission
- A minimum of 1-3+ years of litigation experience.
- Proven proficiency in civil litigation, including the ability to defend depositions, as well as summarize and handle them effectively.
- Strong skills in case management, legal research, and legal writing, with experience drafting legal briefs, correspondence, and memoranda.
- Familiarity with federal and state laws, as well as commercial law.
