Position: Forensic Architect
The Client
My client is a forensic architecture firm that’s all about getting to the bottom of building failures and construction issues. They work at the crossroads of architecture, engineering, and law, using their expertise to support claims, legal cases, and thorough building assessments. Integrity, curiosity, and quality drive everything they do, and they’re looking for someone who brings the same values and a hands-on, problem-solving approach.
About the Role
They’re on the lookout for a Forensic Architect with a solid background in design and construction, ideally with some hands-on construction experience. This role is all about investigation rather than new builds – you’ll dive into building systems, track down the root causes of defects, and put together solid, evidence-backed reports for legal and insurance cases. If you’re someone who loves technical challenges, thrives on analyzing complex situations, and stands by your findings, this could be a perfect match.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed on-site inspections and investigations of building failures and construction defects.
- Analyze building codes, regulations, and technical documents to assess compliance and identify issues.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and provide expert insights for claims and legal cases.
- Collaborate with attorneys, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver well-supported findings.
- Utilize AI-driven tools and technology to streamline report generation and data analysis.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience : 5-15 years in architecture or construction, ideally with forensic experience or a strong interest in this area.
- Technical Skills : Strong understanding of building systems, codes, and construction practices; familiarity with AI and technology-driven processes is a plus.
- Mindset : Thick-skinned, resilient, and objective – comfortable presenting findings in high-stakes scenarios.
- Hands-On Background : Practical construction experience (e.g., roofing, carpentry) is highly valued.
- Education/Certifications : Architectural license preferred.
Why This Role?
This is a unique opportunity to apply your technical skills to solve real-world issues in building diagnostics. My client is also embracing AI to enhance their processes, offering a dynamic work environment where you can see technology and forensic architecture intersect.
