POSITION SUMMARY: Develops, directs, and executes strategies to successfully manage the Company’s Total Supply Chain.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establishes overall direction of the supply chain and purchasing functions of OMT-Veyhl and set appropriate goals and policies to assure its operations and contribution to the company.
Oversees domestic and international sourcing of materials, purchasing, production planning, inventory management, and warehousing.
- Creates and mentors a motivated, dynamic team of purchasing professionals.
- Support and integrate with internal and external customers and suppliers all OMT-Veyhl lean processes and activities.
- Explore, analyze, define and identify the applicable processes within the ERP System (Navision) that are used, or could be used, to improve and simplify the Company’s ordering and forecasting process.
- Establishing and maintaining appropriate purchasing policies, including standardization of terms and conditions to the extent possible.
- Establishing and maintaining measurable performance metrics for all levels of procurement activities to include, but not limited to, supplier performance, supplier quality, internal order placement performance, buyer activity levels, financial performance (including inventory turns), and material shortage elimination.
- Strategically develop and implement commodity/supply chain strategies covering all commodities, services and supplier processes to deliver maximum value, leverage, and standardization.
- Works jointly with other functional areas to coordinate tactical decisions within the overall strategic direction.
- Establishes programs for Supplier Rating Systems, Supplier/Company Cost Reduction Programs, Annual Pricing Reviews, a Supplier Council, and/or other programs as deemed appropriate.
- Supports New Product Development and Cost Reduction activity.
- Manages all activities that develop relationships with suppliers.
- Maintain a high level of visibility with other OMT-Veyhl functional areas and their teams, and take steps to ensure the extended purchasing team does the same.
- Establish working relationships with relevant NWI team leaders, and support/initiate global purchasing initiatives.
- Complies with safety and corporate guidelines and business ethics.

- Adept in using ERP and Windows based tools.
- Strong analytical skills required. Must be detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Three to five years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metals manufacturing.
- Experience with ERP / inventory control systems.
- Minimum 2 years purchasing supervision experience.
