Protection & Controls (P&C) Substation Engineer

Location: Tennessee (Relocation assistance provided)

Our client is looking to hire a Protection & Controls (P&C) Substation Engineer to manage the design, review, and quality checks of substation P&C projects. This role involves generating and modifying critical deliverables, including panel layouts, AC & DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and yard equipment plans using both MicroStation and AutoCAD software. The ideal engineer will be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet stringent timelines, and maintain high standards of design quality. This position places a strong emphasis on thorough reviews of designs created by junior engineers.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Electrical Substation P&C Design
• Prior experience with project scoping and estimation is advantageous
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop accurate P&C design deliverables in MicroStation and AutoCAD
• Ensure that deliverables adhere to client schedules and budgets
• Execute P&C design with a high degree of precision and perform scoping activities for each project
• Estimate design efforts and review work by less experienced staff to ensure compliance with client and national standards
• Availability to travel occasionally (1-2 days every few months) and work additional hours when required
• Mentor junior engineers and designers, contributing to their technical growth
