Job Description
AECOM Canada Nuclear Services is searching for an Electrical Engineer with Nuclear experience for a full-time position based at any of our GTA or Ottawa locations for a hybrid role.
General Accountabilities
The Engineer is accountable to ensure that all related Engineering Activities are performed in accordance with approved policies, standards, programs and procedures consistent with the expectations of the Chief Nuclear Engineer and the requirements of the ACNS Nuclear Quality System Manual.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support the Engineering Manager/Senior Engineering Manager by providing Engineering Products, including but not limited to Designs, Analyses, and other Technical Products. The position is accountable to:
- Ensure that they are trained, competent and qualified to perform their tasks.
- Provide Mentoring and technical direction to Engineering staff as identified by Engineering Manager/Senior Engineering Manager.
- Provide investigation and resolution of technical issues during all phases of a project.
- Prepare, review, verify, or certify Engineering Products as required including but not limited to:
- Technical Specifications, Design Drawings and Bills of Material.
- Commissioning Specifications.
- Design Reports including Calculations and Analysis.
- Maintain expertise in Codes, Standards and Acts in each discipline:
- Electrical – Electrical Codes in Canada/Ontario or any other province in which design is performed.
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
The skills and knowledge to execute this role are usually acquired through 7-15 years of experience in a Design Engineering environment. The individual would possess good written and verbal skills and an ability to influence and interact with all Management Levels.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- A 4-year degree in Engineering and be a registered and practicing Professional Engineer with + 6 Years of experience.
Strongly desired qualifications:
- Demonstrated a good technical understanding of Nuclear Power Plant Operation.
- Demonstrated a good understanding of the Canadian Regulatory Environment and its requirements pertaining to Power Plant Operation.
- Demonstrated in-depth understanding of the practical application of engineering principles in their discipline.
