Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Web Developers (Level 3) consultant for our Federal Government client.
Tasks and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Mobile Development:
Develop mobile applications for iOS and/or Android platforms.
Deploy mobile apps to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Manage the mobile app development lifecycle, from concept to deployment and support.
Design and implement a technical proof of concept.
Front-End Development:
Develop using front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, as well as frameworks/libraries such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
Ensure compatibility across a wide range of devices and screen sizes.
Create and modify code and software.
Adhere to TBS Web standards such as web accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.0), Official Languages, Standard on Web Usability, GC Digital Standards Playbook.
Adhere to web security best practices.
Hosting Platforms:
Develop on enterprise cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
Cross-Platform Development:
Leverage cross-platform development tools such as React Native, Flutter, or Xamarin.
User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design:
Design intuitive and engaging user interfaces, with attention to user experience best practices.
Leverage wireframing and prototyping tools, as well as an understanding of user-centered design methodologies.
API Integration:
Integrate front-end interfaces with back-end services via RESTful APIs, GraphQL, or similar technologies.
Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms, such as OAuth, JWT, and OpenID Connect.
Version Control and Collaboration:
Use version control systems such as Git, and experience collaborating with other developers using platforms like GitHub or GitLab.
Agile Development Methodologies:
Work within an Agile development environment, participating in sprints, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including project managers, back-end developers, and stakeholders.
Requirement Refinement:
Develop conceptual and technical design documents.
Assist with ad-hoc analysis of client data and work with the business users to provide expertise in problem definition, requirements analysis, and the general design of the data solution.
Develop and document detailed statement of requirements for the proposed platform.
Analyze functional requirements to identify information, procedures, and decision flows.
Provide information, direction, and support for emerging technologies.
Prototype potential solutions, provide tradeoff information, and suggest recommended courses of action.
Perform cost/benefit analysis of implementing new processes and solutions.
Define and document interfaces of manual to automated operations within application subsystems, to external systems, and between new and existing systems.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Engage with partner department(s) to understand requirements in order to design enterprise data solutions and proof of concepts.
