Project Engineer, Municipal Infrastructure Engineering
D.M. Wills Associates Limited is in search of a Project Engineer to join our Municipal Infrastructure Engineering Group.
The successful candidate will be responsible for municipal infrastructure projects including asset management studies, renewal of roads/streets, utilities, sewers, and mains, stormwater management and drainage, intersection design, traffic management, water and wastewater capacity studies, and water distribution network design, as examples.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee preliminary and detail design.
Identify and solve complex engineering design issues in order to satisfy clients’ needs while adhering to applicable policies, practices, and procedures.
Complete preliminary and detailed design calculations in order to support engineering recommendations.
Prepare project estimates, budget, schedules, and execution plans.
Undertake technical and feasibility studies including site investigations.
Prepare technical documentation including letters, reports, drawings, specifications, and construction contract documents.
Contribute to business development and marketing activities for existing and new clients and undertake the preparation of technical proposals.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience related to the Key Responsibilities noted above.
Solid knowledge of principles and practices of proposal submissions, project delivery, and contract administration.
Solid understanding of engineering, theory, concepts, and regulations related to the field of work.
Solid understanding of the principles and practices of budget development and financial management within the consulting industry.
Comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act as it relates to supervision of staff and field work.
Excellent communication skills, including mediation and negotiation skills.
Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects or issues simultaneously.
Exceptional time management skills to meet critical timelines.
