The Axel Group is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our clients team based out of Morristown, NJ. This client is a growing firm with a proven track record in the industry. All skilled and motivated litigation attorneys are encouraged to apply even if you do not have previous construction experience! The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice in New Jersey and/or New York.
Key Responsibilities:
- Litigation Management: Handle all aspects of commercial construction litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, and trial preparation
- Client Representation: Represent clients in court, arbitration, and mediation, effectively advocating for their interests in disputes involving construction contracts, defects, delays, payment disputes, and other construction-related issues
- Contract Review & Negotiation: Review, draft, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts, and other agreements, ensuring compliance with legal standards and protecting clients’ interests
- Case Strategy Development: Develop and execute legal strategies tailored to clients' specific needs and objectives, working closely with clients to understand their goals and risks
- Legal Research & Analysis: Conduct thorough legal research and analysis, staying current on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting construction law
- Client Communication: Maintain open and regular communication with clients, providing updates, legal advice, and guidance throughout the litigation process
Qualifications:
- Bar Admission: Licensed to practice law in New Jersey and/or New York (must be in good standing)
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in commercial litigation (construction experience preferred)
- Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong negotiation abilities, and a keen attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of state and federal construction laws and regulations, as well as familiarity with arbitration and mediation processes
