JOB SUMMARY:
- Reporting to the Research Library Manager, the Acquisitions and Access Librarian will collaborate with the Knowledge Center team to provide essential information resources and economic data to support RPPE economists, policy advisors, and research assistants. This role is integral in managing data licenses, subscription services, and electronic resource access, ensuring that licenses are acquired, renewed, and compliant with terms and conditions. The Librarian will also coordinate procurement tasks, including handling contract workspaces, purchase orders, and invoice reconciliation using Ariba, and work closely with the National Procurement Office on commitment letters. Additionally, the role involves determining user needs and effectively communicating with various bank departments to maintain uninterrupted access to critical information resources, supporting the RPPE’s role in the FOMC process and scholarly research production.
- Work schedule: Hybrid, 8am-5pm CST
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing the purchasing, licensing, and renewal of library resources.
- Overseeing data and subscription licenses, with a focus on understanding terms and conditions.
- Determining user needs and negotiating with information and data providers.
- Managing procurement tasks in Ariba, such as creating purchase orders, reconciling invoices, and handling commitment letters.
- Maintaining electronic access to resources and resolving technical issues.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- ALA-accredited MLIS or MSIS (new and recent graduates encouraged to apply).
- At least one year of experience working in a library environment.
- Knowledge of electronic resource licensing and subscription management.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain professional relationships.
- Proficiency in computer software applications and strong knowledge of databases.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels.
