Job Title: Protestant Religious Education Coordinator
Location: Luke AFB, AZ
Duties: - Participate in parish planning, Protestant Parish Advisory Council as the RE representative, and other meetings involving Protestant ministries as requested.
- Assist in developing an annual CTOF budget and core Religious Education curriculum as directed by the senior ranking Protestant Chaplain or their designee.
- Coordinate with Protestant program leaders to produce an annual calendar of events for all Protestant RE programs, working collaboratively with Protestant parish leaders, if appropriate.
- Recruit volunteers to ensure a successful RE program.
- Provide orientation for new volunteer staff members in facilities, funding, religious education policies, and available resources.
- Organize classes; recruit volunteer teachers, substitutes, and other necessary staff; train teachers and provide required workshops.
- Organize annual volunteer teacher training/refresher events each year.
- Assist Protestant chaplains in planning and coordinating seasonal RE events and other activities and events: Fall Festival, Advent/Christmas, Easter/Lent, RE Kickoff, Back-to-School Bash, and others as required.
- Coordinate and oversee all publicity needs for the RE program, including advertisement flyers on social media, worship service bulletins, and multimedia power-point slides.
- Maintain statistical data on attendance, classes, and volunteers.
- Ensure all volunteers working with youth below the age of 18 receive a background check as directed by Department of Defense.
- Be responsible for ensuring all money is handled correctly in accordance with Air Force Instructions and Chapel Operating Instructions.
- Plan, coordinate and submit accurate facility and other support requests for all program events and activities with appropriate chapel staff on time.
Education & Qualifications: - Furnish a resume including academic and work-related references and shall have at least four years of experience as a religious education coordinator or teacher.
- Ability to develop the RE programs' short and long-term growth plans.
- Have prior experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults.
- Obtain, within 90 days of this contract, Red Cross First Aid Training, CPR Training, and Infant CPR Training at no cost to the Contractor.
- Must provide a copy of their Red Cross Card to the Superintendent of Religious Affairs.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of Protestant faith, practice, and traditions.
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain healthy, functional interpersonal relationships with coworkers, chapel staff, and parishioners via resume references.
- Be qualified to perform the required services with minimal direction.
- Applicant is subject to a Child Care National Agency Check and Inquiry (CNACI). Mandatory disqualifying criteria include any conviction of a sexual offense, a drug felony, a violent crime, or a criminal offense involving a child or children.
