Overview
The Plant Manager will coordinate and direct all aspects of plant operations to increase revenue and profitability while providing a leadership style that will promote a work environment that will foster harmony and ownership by all members of the organization. Additionally, the Plant Manager will ensure safety policies are enforced stringently and set identifiable goals and objectives for staff.

Responsibilities
- Monitors all plant activity, internal systems, and operations for accuracy and compliance with company rules, standards, expectations, and applicable laws.
- Controls significant manufacturing projects, plans and schedules facility assignments, and sets priorities.
- Motivates workforce, outlines and delegates methods to surpass all company goals and objectives, while ensuring the safety of each person within the facility.
- Ensures the use of proper safety PPE, equipment and work methods. Maintains constant awareness of unsafe and hazardous conditions and practices.
- Leads the facility’s safety process with cross-functional team implementing behavioral based safety systems.
- Monitors operational costs to established plant budget, to include review of sales forecast and appropriately adjust operations to surpass profitability targets.
- Identifies opportunities that best utilize the location’s infrastructure to meet customer demands.
- Resolves problems by adjusting priorities, schedules, and the reassignment of workforce.
- Controls obsolete and excess inventory; provides inventory models to maintain inventory accurately.
- Monitors corrective actions to ensure the location is improving quality, efficiency, service, profits by analyzing and enhancing those actions.
- Confirms the location(s) is meeting contractual obligations to the customer.
- Ensures sufficient capacity is available to carry out the objectives and delivery of products.
- Reviews all internal and external reporting.
- Analyzes operations to evaluate performance of the location(s) and its staff in meeting objectives, and to determine areas of potential cost reduction and improvements.
- Understands and complies to all Company policies.
- Approves and monitors work completion and performance.
- Champion for Continuous Improvement and leads entire team to develop actions that drive waste out of all processes and products through the use of work center KPI boards.
- Conducts employee meetings, counsel and bring resolution to team member issues.
- Prepares weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance updates of the operation to be presented to management to highlight improvements and abnormal conditions including immediate actions.
- Travel to other locations, customers, and suppliers may be required (less than 25%).
Qualifications
- Associates Degree with 2+ years Mfg. leadership experience, Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
- Equivalent to five to seven years in increasingly responsible experience in a manufacturing facility
- Proven ability to work with cross functional teams and in a project management environment required
- Experience proving strong and effective leadership skills.
- Experience managing multiple departments and/or shifts.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and capital resources.
- Must possess all other qualities critical for managerial success including leadership, self-confidence, motivation, decisiveness, flexibility, sound business judgment, and determination
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (required), specific assembly operations (preferred)
- Must have the ability to consider and evaluate the relationships between numerous factors.
- Ability to extract, compile, and analyze a range of data from written sources, individuals, or multiple work orders.
- ISO experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability for implementation of Lean Principles (required).
- Ability to lead various cross-functional teams in Root Cause analysis.
- Ability to develop systems and tools to track, manage, maintain, and improve quality systems.
- Ability to solve practical problems and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Personal computer and software programs, including Microsoft Office Suite, JD Edwards or similar ERP system.
- Must have highly developed interpersonal skills
