Our dynamic and complex client is searching for an experienced Senior HR Generalist to lead core HR functions with a strong focus on labor relations and union engagement. Reporting directly to senior management/HR Manager, this role is essential in strengthening HR operations, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and engagement. The Senior HR Generalist will play a key role in collective bargaining and fostering a collaborative, compliant work environment. Please note - This role has a very strong potential to move into the HR Manager role in the not too distant future.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Labor Relations & Union Engagement: Manage labor relations initiatives, including union negotiations, collective bargaining agreements, and addressing complex labor issues.
  • HR Support & Guidance: Serve as a resource for HR best practices, coaching managers, and supporting employee engagement across all levels.
  • HR Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement HR strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Employee Relations: Cultivate strong partnerships with site leaders and team members to promote a positive workplace, drive engagement, and resolve conflicts.
  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Drive recruitment efforts, work closely with hiring managers, and ensure smooth onboarding for new team members.
  • Policy & Compliance: Oversee HR policies, ensuring compliance with employment laws and alignment with organizational values.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Administer a competitive compensation and benefits program, including benefits administration and employee retention strategies.
  • HR Program Development: Continuously improve HR initiatives in areas such as talent development, employee engagement, and professional growth.


Qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; HR certification (e.g., CPHR) preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in HR, with a minimum of 2 years in labor relations and union engagement.
  • Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of employment law, collective bargaining experience, and a well-rounded background in HR operations and compliance.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships and lead across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with HR software.
