About the Role:

As our VP of Human Resources, you’re not just a leader—you’re the heartbeat of our company culture and the architect of an extraordinary employee experience. We're looking for someone who can lead with purpose and empathy while driving results and fueling growth. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our people strategy and building a workplace that not only attracts top talent but keeps them engaged, motivated, and ready to bring their best every day. If you’re someone who thrives on balancing performance with a genuine care for people, this role is for you!

We’re in a period of transformation, actively evolving our processes, culture, and ways of working. This dynamic stage requires a leader who is comfortable navigating change, can adapt to shifting needs, and is ready to help drive positive transformation within the organization. If you’re energized by new challenges and have a passion for building strong, adaptable HR frameworks, you’ll find this role rewarding.

Your Impact:

Strategic HR Leadership:

  • Be the visionary who shapes our HR strategy, aligning it seamlessly with company goals and helping us grow while staying true to our values.
  • Work alongside our executive team to bring fresh ideas and a progressive approach to all things people related.
  • Think big picture! Keep a constant pulse on business needs and workforce planning so we’re always ready for what’s next.

HR Team Leadership:

  • Lead a high-performing team that includes the Learning & Development Manager and HR Business Partners (HRBPs), guiding them to elevate their impact and contribute to strategic HR initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive environment where your team is empowered to bring innovative ideas to enhance the employee experience and align HR functions with business goals.
  • Ensure the team is aligned with company values and prepared to adapt to the ongoing transformation, helping them navigate change while maintaining a strong focus on people and culture.

Learning & Development:

  • Champion a culture of continuous learning where employees feel excited to grow and upskill themselves.
  • Drive the adoption of innovative learning and development technologies to create scalable, interactive and personalized learning experiences for our team.
  • Ensure onboarding is an impactful, welcoming and inclusive experience that sets the tone for a successful journey with us.
  • Develop career pathways that support employees’ long-term career goals, reinforcing a commitment to internal growth and retention.
  • Design and implement leadership development initiatives that help managers grow as people-centered, performance-driven leaders.
  • Equip leaders with the skills to coach, motivate, and inspire their teams, balancing accountability with empathy.

Performance Management with Heart:

  • Design and lead a performance management system that’s about more than just KPIs; it’s about real growth and meaningful impact.
  • Oversee the company’s mid-year and annual performance evaluation processes to ensure alignment with company goals and individual growth.
  • Facilitate regular check-ins, feedback loops and development planning, creating a structured yet flexible approach that encourages high performance.
  • Coach managers to provide thoughtful, constructive feedback that helps everyone be their best.

Compensation & Total Rewards:

  • Craft a rewards strategy that’s competitive, transparent, and in sync with what our team values most.
  • Lead the annual compensation and salary increase process, working closely with finance and leaders to set and adjust compensation that recognizes performance, market trends and internal equity.
  • Regularly evaluate our compensation programs to make sure they’re fair, motivating, and keep us competitive in the market.

Executive-Level Employee Relations:

  • Be the trusted go-to for handling complex matters within the executive team. Your judgment will help us navigate sensitive situations with care.
  • Bring your insight to our leaders, guiding them through challenges with integrity and a people-first approach.

Employer Branding & Culture:

  • Lead initiatives that make us a company people are excited to work for and proud to stay with.
  • Foster an inclusive, engaging environment that encourages everyone to bring their unique selves to work.

Legal & Compliance Matters:

  • Serve as the expert in navigating Canadian labour laws, employment standards, and HR compliance.
  • Regularly review and update HR policies to ensure they are comprehensive, relevant, and aligned with best practices.
  • Lead efforts to proactively identify areas for improvement and implement policy changes that reflect the evolving needs of the business.
  • Partner with legal counsel to ensure policies and practices are up-to-date and reflect the highest standards of compliance and fairness.

What You Bring:

  • Background & Expertise: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • Experience: 8+ years in HR, with at least 5 in a senior role overseeing the full HR function and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Strategic Vision & Empathy: You’re both a planner and a people person, with the ability to balance high performance with a deep respect for what makes people tick.
  • Canadian Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of Canadian labour laws, employee relations practices, and the ability to manage legal and compliance matters with ease.
  • Excellent Communication: You know how to communicate effectively with empathy, whether coaching leaders or navigating sensitive issues.

Where You’ll Work:

This role is ideally based in Toronto or Ottawa, with the request to work on-site 1–2 days a week. Some travel to other team locations or industry events may be required on rare occasions.

Who You’ll Report To:

You’ll report to our Chief Operating Officer and be a core part of our senior leadership team, shaping not just HR but our entire company culture.
