A healthcare system in Westchester County is actively seeking a patient-oriented Gastroenterologist to join their growing staff. In this role, the Gastroenterologist will provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient gastrointestinal care.
About the Opportunity
- Schedule: Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Call: 1:7 one week, nights
- Setting: Outpatient and Inpatient
Responsibilities The Gastroenterologist will:
- Diagnose complex medical problems by obtaining a patient's history
- Perform physical exam
- Counsel patients on gastrointestinal disorders
- Order appropriate diagnostic imaging and lab testing and interpret the results of
- studies
- Discuss test results, diagnosis, treatment plan and prognosis with patients
- Prescribe and/or administer treatment and medication
- Perform endoscopic procedures, including diagnostic and screening endoscopies and colonoscopies as indicated
Qualifications - Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology with the American Board of Internal Medicine or equivalent
- Completion of specialty training in an ACGME or equivalent Gl fellowship program
- Current New York State Medical Practitioner License
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration
Desired skills - Training in ERCP and/or Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship
