The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Operations Manager to join Moneycorp. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing approximately 15 staff members, with 2 to 4 Team Leaders reporting directly to them. This is a leadership role within the organization, with primary responsibilities including managing and directing teams in Compliance Operations, Payment Operations, FX Operations, and Reconciliations. The Operations Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our international payment’s services. The successful candidate will provide input into the continuous evolution of the payment and compliance operations process/systems/workflows with a view to driving efficiency/scale and transparency.
This role will be aligned with Moneycorp Group, a primary objective being to cover Americas Operational Support. This role will have a strong link with the EMEA Operational Support Center with a view towards building a ‘follow the sun’ model and adopting best practices on a global basis. The successful candidate will work closely with entity COOs, EMEA Operations Manager and the Global Head of Operations to instil a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence in a friendly and collaborative environment; ensuring all customers (internal & external) receive the service expected.
Duties
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Finance, Treasury, Technology, and Commercial, to ensure seamless operations, identify areas for improvement, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and external partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Work with Head of department on budgets, resources, and expenses in alignment with the strategic goals of the organization.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and performance within the designated teams.
- Ensure that the operational processes and procedures are documented, regularly reviewed, and updated as needed
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving operational excellence initiatives, and implementing process enhancements to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of employees encompassing Compliance Operations, Payment Operations, FX Operations, and reconciliations.
- Identify training and development needs for the operations teams and facilitate appropriate training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Foster a positive team culture, encouraging innovation, collaboration, and accountability amongst team members.
- Monitor and drive performance metrics and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of the operations teams.
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Compliance Operations, Payment Operations, FX Operations, and reconciliations teams to meet operational targets and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing international payments.
- Resolve escalated issues, complaints, or concerns effectively, and provide appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
Who You Are
- Proven experience working as an Operations Manager or in a similar leadership role within the financial services or international payments industry.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of compliance operations, payment operations, FX operations, and reconciliations processes within the international payments sector.
- Customer centric focus, understanding how the Operations teams, associated processes and individual roles within each team affect the ability for the organization to deliver for the dealers and customers.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, such as Anti-Money Laundering (AML), North American Payments Regulations, and KYC (Know Your Customer) regulations.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire employees to achieve their full potential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and implement effective solutions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of successfully driving operational excellence, process improvements, automation and achieving operational targets.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Proficient in using MS Office Suite, project management tools, and other relevant software.
